On January 8, Dr. Carlos Nuno da Cruz Ribeiro was awarded the habilitation degree, following the presentation of the seminar “Authentication: A personal historical perspective”. The examination took place in the PA-3 amphitheater, in the Mathematics building.

The jury was chaired by Dr. José Alberto Rosado dos Santos Victor, Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, and comprised Dr. Peter Yvain Anthony Ryan, Full Professor, Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg; Dr. Fernando Pedro Lopes Boavida Fernandes, Full Professor at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra; Dr. Luís Filipe Coelho Antunes, Full Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto; Dr. Mário Marques Freire, Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Beira Interior; Dr. Isabel Maria Martins Trancoso, Retired Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon; Dr. Rui Jorge Morais Tomaz Valadas, Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon; and Dr. Miguel Nuno Dias Alves Pupo Correia, Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon.
