On January 15, Pedro Miguel Dias Pateiro Trindade successfully defended his thesis, Decentralized Consensus-Based Formation Control of Autonomous Vehicles, under the supervision of Professors Pedro Tiago Martins Batista and Rita Maria Mendes de Almeida Correia da Cunha. The defense took place in the PA-3 amphitheater, at the Mathematics building.

The examination committee was chaired by Dr. Luís Miguel Teixeira D'Avila Pinto da Silveira, Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, and comprised Dr. Dimos Dimarogonas, Full Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden; Dr. Tarek Hamel, Full Professor at Université Côte d’Azur, France; Dr. João Manuel Lage de Miranda Lemos, Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon; Dr. João Manuel de Freitas Xavier, Associate Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon; Dr. Rita Maria Mendes de Almeida Correia da Cunha, Associate Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon; and Dr. Pedro Daniel Graça Casau, Assistant Professor at the University of Aveiro.
