Applications for the Prémio Prof. Luís Vidigal, 2025 Edition are open until 8:00 p.m. on 16/01/2026.

This prize was established in 2000 by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in tribute to Professor Luís Manuel Vidigal. The prize is intended to annually reward the author of a Master’s dissertation whose topic falls within the scientific areas of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Computer Engineering and which, in the opinion of the Jury, demonstrates the best scientific qualities, innovation, and overall quality. This year, the prize amount is 2,500 euros.

How are applications submitted?

Applications must be submitted by 8:00 p.m. on January 16, 2026 through the following link: https://premio-vidigal.inesc.pt/pdf/formulario-premio-vidigal.pdf.

Applicants must submit the following documents:

• application form (available here);
• short curriculum vitae;
• a copy of an executive summary of the work summarizing its main points, the research area, objectives, main contributions, methodology and technologies used or developed, conclusions, etc.;
• a copy of the dissertation;
• proof of the final grade obtained in the submitted thesis;
• copies of all scientific publications resulting from the work, with explicit indication of the date and place of publication;
• opinions/reports (optional).

Works carried out and completed during the last academic year will be accepted.

When will the results be announced?

The evaluation of the works will take place throughout February and the results will be published in March.
