Professor Rui Martins, from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Vice-Rector of the University of Macau, has been awarded the rank of Commander of the Order of Merit by the President of the Portuguese Republic. The award ceremony will take place on February 11, at 6:00 p.m., at the Auditorium of the Consulate General of Portugal in Macau.

I feel deeply honored by the recognition of His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic through the awarding of the Order of Merit. This honor rewards my work and dedication to the cause of Macau, through my contribution to the development of the University as an academic institution of global standing that serves as a bridge between China, Macau, Portugal, and Portuguese-speaking countries.
