The University of Lisbon, which includes Instituto Superior Técnico, has once again secured first place nationally in the Times Higher Education by Subject Rankings. At the global level, ULisboa is ranked in the 301–400 band in the field of Engineering, which includes Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. Overall, considering all subject areas assessed, ULisboa is placed in the 401–500 range.

This ranking evaluated 1,555 higher education institutions based on criteria related to teaching, the research environment and quality, industry engagement, and international outlook.

In 2025, ULisboa had already been ranked as the top national institution in the field of Engineering, and in 2026 it has maintained its standing on the international stage.
