Colégio Campo de Flores came to meet Bob
On March 19, we welcomed several students from Colégio Campo de Flores. The morning began with a brief presentation about the department, given by Professor Sónia Pinto, who spoke about the areas of activity within Electrical and Computer Engineering. The students also learned about the available degree programs and extracurricular activities.
Afterwards, the students visited the Electrical Machines Laboratory and the facilities of the Institute for Systems and Robotics.
In the first laboratory, the students observed several experiments involving superconductors and the laws of electromagnetic induction.
At ISR, the students met some members of SocRob@Home, as well as the robot Bob. This robot is capable of moving around a domestic environment and recognizing, picking up, and placing objects according to given commands.
The visit ended with a group photo at the entrance of the North Tower.
