Escola Secundária Arco-Íris visits us again!
On the 6th, we welcomed two classes from Escola Secundária Arco-Íris, in Portela. The visit began with a presentation of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering by Professor Pedro Tomás, who introduced the degree programmes and the available extracurricular activities, as well as the DEEC’s research areas and some statistical data.
Afterwards, the students visited the Energy and Sustainability module and the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics module.
In the Energy and Sustainability module, Professor João Fernandes carried out experiments with superconductors, putting the laws of electromagnetic induction into practice.
In the second module, the students visited the facilities of the Institute for Systems and Robotics and learned some of the main concepts in the field, together with the SocRob@Home team.
The visit ended with a group photo at the entrance of the North Tower.
