Escola Secundária José Saramago visits DEEC

On February 3, we welcomed a visit from 50 students from José Saramago Secondary School, in Mafra. The morning began with a presentation about the department, delivered by Daniela Leonardo, who introduced students to the areas of activity within Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as the academic programmes and extracurricular activities available.
Afterwards, the students visited the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics module and the Multimedia and Telecommunications module.

In the first module, Professor Alberto Vale addressed the main challenges of artificial intelligence and robotics over time. He also spoke about some of the current projects and research areas.

In the Multimedia and Telecommunications module, Professor Custódio Peixeiro conducted experiments demonstrating some of the properties of electromagnetic waves, using transmitting and receiving antennas.
The visit concluded with a group photograph at the entrance of the North Tower.
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites students and teachers to visit the different modules available.
