Prof. Luís Vidigal's Award

The Prof. Luís Vidigal Award, established by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2000 in honor of the memory of Professor Luís Manuel Vidigal, aims to annually award the graduate or graduates of any degree at IST, authors of the best Master Thesis, whose subject falls within the Scientific Areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Informatics.

DEEC Master Thesis Video Award

DEEC instituted the prize for the best video on master's dissertations completed in the MEEC, MEE, MEAer, METI and MECD courses, supervised (or co-supervised) by the department's professors. The target length of the video, with content aimed at non-experts, is 3 minutes. The videos must be submitted to the competition jury after the conclusion of the public defense of Master Thesis dissertation.

REN Prize

In 1995, REN created the REN Award, which has been awarded annually since then, as a stimulus to technological excellence. The REN Award focuses on master's theses in engineering on topics within the scope of networks and electrical systems for energy and natural gas.

EDP LABELEC Merit Award

Starting in 2022, the EDP LABELEC MERIT AWARD wants to contribute to scientific development in energy areas. Thesis themes: production and integration of renewable energy and decarbonization, smart grids and energy distribution, new clean energy solutions, innovation technologies and digital solutions.
