Admissions to the Doctoral Programme in Electrical and Computer Engineering

Anyone holding a 5-year Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or similar, can apply to this programme.

How to Apply?

To apply to the DEEC Doctoral Program candidates must choose a supervisor by mutual consent. The supervisor is usually chosen among DEEC faculty members. Doctoral work is usually carried out in an affiliated DEEC research center, or any other place where the supervisor conducts his or her research work, and it must be related to the research topic of the Doctoral Thesis.

With help from the supervisor, the candidate must prepare a study plan that includes both the research work and the course work that the candidate will realize throughout the Doctoral work.

Degree holders with a grade average less than 16/20 must get recommendation letters from two professors working in the same research topic as the candidate research work, saying the candidate has the scientific background and other necessary qualities to pursue Doctoral studies.

Application forms are submmited to the IST Administrative Offices for Post-Graduation, and will be examined by the DEEC Doctoral Programme Scientific Committee and by the IST Scientific Committee.
