DEEC Luncheon Seminar: "Free elab", by professors Horácio Fernandes and João Nuno Silva

On October 11th, Wednesday, at 12:30 p.m., a new DEEC Luncheon session will take place in the EA3 amphitheater of the North Tower with a joint presentation by Horácio Fernandes and João Nuno Silva about the elab remote laboratory, which will include a demonstration of the experiment "Cavidade Eletromagnética".
Title: "Free elab"
Abstract: "Computer science technology has finally made it possible to close the cycle opened by remotely controlled laboratories, allowing the construction of a "LaaS - Laboratory as a Service" product, evolving the elab/JAVA started in 2000. In fact, after the last elab project, a Capacity Building Erasmus+, a new server and interface were developed from scratch for elab which currently supports electronic questionnaires customized to the experimental data obtained by users, and which can be integrated via LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) in various CMS (Content Management Systems) such as Open edX or MOODLE.
In this presentation about the elab remote laboratory, Professors Horácio Fernandes and João Nuno Silva will demonstrate the "Electromagnetic Cavity" experience in the elab advanced laboratory and its associated questionnaires, as well as the same is part of the feX MOOC: Plasmas (Advanced Experimental Physics), discussing the application of the Framework for Remote Experiments in Education (FREE) in various areas of engineering.
We count on your presence!
