The next DEEC Luncheon Seminar will be on Wednesday, June 14th, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, in amphitheatre EA4, with a joint presentation by Margarida Vieira and Paulo Rosa on new challenges that Deimos Engenharia is currently addressing and possible collaboration opportunities.

Margarida Vieira will present: "Secure communications enabled by quantum key distribution".

In this seminar Margarida Vieira will talk about a pioneer project in Portugal, DISCRETION, that will integrate and combine Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technologies on top of legacy optical networks to build a highly secure, scalable and resilient network control architecture for advanced tactical operation services for the European Defence. Technology from DISCRETION will be then deployed as the 1st euroQCI segment in Portugal, known as PTQCI.

Paulo Rosa will present: "GNC Challenges in In-Orbit Servicing and Active Debris Removal".

This seminar aims to provide an overview of some of the most interesting problems that are not yet addressed – or that are only partially addressed – by the scientific community, in close-proximity operations, namely for In-Orbit Servicing (IOS) and Active Debris Removal (ADR) missions.
