New Space: Advanced Measurements in High Frequencies and Materials Characterization features the participation professors of DEEC

On March 10th, Monday, the seminar on "Non-Terrestrial Networks and Material Characterization" will take place at the Civil Engineering Pavilion, Instituto Superior Técnico, Alameda Campus. The seminar will feature professors António Grilo and Carlos Ribeiro from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and engineer German Martin from Rohde & Schwarz. The event, organized jointly by Rohde & Schwarz and Instituto Superior Técnico / INESC INOV-Lab, will begin at 9:00 AM.

Several sessions will take place throughout the day. Between 10:00 and 10:45 AM, Carlos Ribeiro will participate in the talk "Adversarial Attacks on AI-Based Network Services," where he will address different types of attacks that can be used against AI-based network services, compromising system security, as well as techniques that can be used to defend them. He will also present some of the research developed at the INOV cybersecurity lab, including in the field of cryptographic algorithms.

António Grilo will take part in the session "Intelligent UAV Communication Networks," providing an overview of the research conducted at INOV-lab on communication systems for unmanned aerial systems and flying base stations. These stations allow for greater coverage of isolated areas, complementing terrestrial infrastructure. The researcher will also discuss the current challenges in this area.

The event is free, but registration is required through this link.
