Excellence Europa is seeking students to pursue a master's degree at French institutions

The "France Excellence Europa" scholarship program allows students from 26 European countries, including Portugal, to pursue a master's degree at a higher education institution in France with a scholarship.

What is the duration of the scholarship?

The scholarship can last for:

  • A maximum of 12 months for enrollment in M2;
  • A maximum of 24 months for enrollment in M1.

What are the benefits?

  • Semester allowance of €6,850;
  • Installation allowance of €1,700;
  • Exemption from enrollment fees;
  • Priority access to university residences;
  • Insurance for the first 3 months in France for those without a European health insurance card;
  • Complementary health insurance;
  • Exemption from CVEC – Student Life and Campus Contribution;
  • Preferential rates for cultural activities organized by Campus France.

What are the requirements?

The main requirement is to be a citizen of one of the 26 European Union member states, excluding France. Applications are not open to students with French nationality or dual nationality. However, the following conditions must also be met:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of mobility in France;
  • Not hold a master's degree;
  • Be admitted to a French higher education institution for a Master 1 or 2 program for the 2025-2026 academic year;
  • Not hold a French higher education diploma or currently be enrolled in France to obtain a diploma from a French higher education institution;
  • Not be receiving an Erasmus+, AUF, or any other French ministry scholarship.

How to submit the application?

The following documents should be sent to the French Embassy in Portugal at FEE.portugal@campusfrance.org:

  • Completed and signed application form;
  • CV (in French or English);
  • Cover letter (in French or English);
  • Copy of the most recent higher education diploma or secondary school completion certificate if the candidate is still in higher education. The diploma should be sent as soon as it is obtained (translated into French or English);
  • Copy of the transcripts for the last 2 years of higher education (translated into French or English);
  • Copy of an identity document (passport, ID card);
  • Letter of admission to a Master 1 or Master 2 program at a French higher education institution for the 2025-2026 academic year.
