IEEE appointed Professor Isabel Trancoso as IEEE Fellow

"For contributions to speech technology, in particular in providing tools and resources for the Portuguese language"

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE, appointed professor Isabel Trancoso as Fellow of this prestigious institution.

The nomination of Fellow, restricted each year to no more than 0.1% of the members, distinguishes scientists with an extraordinary curriculum and recognized by peers for the relevant contribution made in one of the areas of interest of the IEEE.

Citing the Fellow nomination certificate, the distinction was awarded to Professor Isabel Trancoso for "significant contributions to speech technology, in particular in providing tools and resources for the Portuguese language".

Professor Isabel Trancoso is a professor in the Scientific Area of Computers and a researcher at INESC-ID where she coordinates the Speech Processing group, L2F.
