Escola Professor José Augusto Lucas visits the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
On March 17th, we received students from the Escola Professor José Augusto Lucas. The students began by learning about the academic offerings, extracurricular activities, and research areas of DEEC. The presentation was made by Professor Sónia Pinto.
Next, the students visited the modules on Networks and Computers and Multimedia and Telecommunications.
The first module, Networks and Computers, was presented by Professor Paulo Pereira, who spoke about the "Internet of Things," also explaining the operation and connection of sensors and actuators.
The Multimedia and Telecommunications module was presented by Professor Custódio Peixeiro, who discussed the contribution of some scientists to the study of electromagnetic waves. The professor also showed how these waves propagate, including Snell-Descartes' laws.
The visit concluded with the usual photo at the entrance of the building and an invitation for future visits to DEEC.
