The Gustave Eiffel Vocational School came to visit the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

On February 5th, the students from the Gustave Eiffel Vocational School visited DEEC. The visit began with a presentation by Professor Sónia Pinto, introducing the courses and some of the activities promoted by the department.

After the presentation, the students participated in the modules on Energy and Sustainability and on Networks and Computers.

The Energy and Sustainability module was presented by PhD students Luís Bucho and Pedro Bhagubai. The students observed how it is possible to make certain materials (superconductors) levitate through cooling them with the use of nitrogen.

In the second part of the visit, the students learned how sensors detect changes in the environment and how actuators respond to these changes, according to the defined objectives. The presentation was given by Professor Paulo Pereira.

The visit concluded with a group photo taken at the entrance of the building and an invitation for more visits to DEEC.
