Escola Tecnológica do Litoral Alentejano Observes Experiments with Magnetic Levitation

On the 21st of March, we welcomed students from the Escola Tecnológica do Litoral Alentejano, starting with a presentation by Professor João Fernandes about the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He introduced the academic offerings, extracurricular activities, and the entrance averages from the previous year for the different courses.

Next, the students visited the Energy and Sustainability module and the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics module.

In the first module, Luís Bucho conducted experiments on electromagnetic induction and magnetic levitation, where the students observed the floating of superconductors, a mechanism used in the construction of high-speed trains.

No módulo de Inteligência Artificial e Robótica, o In the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics module, Professor Alberto Vale discussed some of the current challenges in the field, as well as the advantages of the evolution of systems.

The afternoon concluded with a photo taken at the entrance to the North Tower, along with an invitation for future visits to DEEC.
