The Jury, chaired by Professor Arlindo Oliveira, decided to unanimously award the Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo Prize, in the Role Model category to engineer Manuela Veloso “for the value of her scientific contributions, strong international projection and the strong connection she has maintained to Portugal and to IST, since graduating in Electrical and Computer Engineering at IST, as a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and in her current position as Director of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Research at J.P. Morgan”.

The prize will be awarded on March 25, at 16:30, in Salão Nobre.
