The IST Energy Initiative is organising a debate, moderated by Professor Pedro Carvalho, on Offshore Wind in Portugal with experts from Técnico and various other national entities.

The debate will seek to clarify the enthusiasm surrounding the ocean renewables sector, addressing a series of technical-scientific questions related to:

1) the availability of the wind resource in Portugal;
2) the competitiveness of its utilisation, compared to other countries and other renewable resources;
3) the opportunity for its development, given the expected evolution of the generation technologies.
