On June 11 at 6:00 PM, in the Grand Hall of the Alameda campus, Técnico Solar Boat will unveil its latest prototype: the São Gabriel 01 (SG01).

"This is an 8-meter prototype, the most powerful built to date, and it represents the culmination of all the work developed in the team’s previous prototypes. It stands as a promising milestone for the future of the national nautical industry." The team competes annually in various national and international events representing Técnico, notably the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, where this year they will participate for the first time in the Sealab class with the SG01—becoming one of the first university teams to reach this milestone.

The ceremony also marks the tenth anniversary of the student group’s founding. The team specializes in the development of solar- and hydrogen-powered vessels, as well as autonomous navigation prototypes. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to explore all the team’s vessels since 2015.
