Call 4 TA: DEEC Opens Applications for Teaching Assistants
1. SCOPE OF THE CALL
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) at IST ensures the offer of a wide range of courses that are part of the curricula of various Undergraduate and Master's degree programs at the Instituto Superior Técnico.
To strengthen the teaching capacity, DEEC regularly relies on human resources that provide teaching support on a temporary basis in subjects closely related to their areas of expertise.
This call aims to systematically gather information from candidates who may provide teaching support within the DEEC's educational offerings.
2. CANDIDATE PROFILE
The aim is to identify candidates with a degree, master's, or PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related fields, who are interested in collaborating in teaching activities, with academic and/or professional performance relevant to DEEC's areas of teaching, and who meet the following conditions:
- Students of the Undergraduate program or those transitioning to the Master's program in 2025/2026;
- Master's students;
- Doctoral students;
- PhD Researchers;
- Professionals with relevant teaching experience and appropriate academic qualifications.
The type/duration of the contract will be defined individually, depending on the candidate's experience, academic qualifications, and contractual conditions. The possibilities are:
i) Contracts as monitors (6 hours per week);
ii) Academic credits within the "teaching support" course of the Doctoral program or equivalent in the Master's courses at DEEC;
iii) Fixed-term contracts as guest assistants/guest professors, with the dedication to be defined or under Article 32 of the ECDU (without remuneration).
