João Felício, PhD alumnus in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Técnico, won the 3rd place in the Fraunhofer Portugal Challenge 2019, in the PhD theses category.

In his PhD Thesis, supervised by Professor Carlos Fernandes (IST/IT) and Professor Jorge Costa (ISCTE-IUL/IT), João Felício developed a new medical imaging system for breast cancer screening based on microwave radiation.
