The Técnico student Francisco Santos (Electrical and Computer Engineering) qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games, this Sunday, June 6, after breaking 200m backstroke national record in a speedy 1.57,06 minutes.

The Portuguese swimmer at Sporting Clube Portugal surpassed the Olympic qualifying mark by 44 hundredths and set a new national record, beating the previous time of 1,58.22 minutes.

The Tokyo2020 Olympic Games take place from 23rd July to 8th August 2021.
