ISTSat-1 receives green light from ANACOM

After ISTSat-1 had met all ESA requirements, on March 23, 2024 it was definitively placed in the space container that will take it to Space.

ANACOM, as a space authority, which safeguards the international responsibilities of the Portuguese State and national strategic interests, in addition to imposing a set of duties in terms of space sustainability and security, concluded the licensing process and, finally, ISTSat-1 had the necessary authorization to be launched into Space and be able to operate its telecommunications systems.

This brings to an end an effort spanning more than a dozen years of work by IST students, researchers and professors.
