Técnico hosts 13th edition of international school of Artificial Intelligence
The 13th edition of the Lisbon Machine Learning School (LxMLS) ended on July 20, with the participation of around 170 students. The initiative was jointly organized by Instituto Superior Técnico, Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) and Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores, Investigação e Desenvolvimento (INESC-ID) and brought together expert speakers in the area of automatic learning and natural language processing, reaching students of different nationalities and from areas of study such as Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, Linguistics and Economics.
For Mário Figueiredo, professor at DEEC, researcher at IT and one of the organizers of the event, LxMLS is an opportunity to "take a course given by renowned specialists, covering everything from the fundamentals of automatic learning to the latest advances in generative artificial intelligence ”. In addition, he points out that this initiative also allows establishing contacts with other students and researchers in the area, "creating very important connections and ties for the future professional careers of the participants", since, in addition to students, the event has the presence of researchers and industry professionals.
