TLMoto presents new prototype
On October 18th, the student group from Técnico presented the TLM04e, the fastest electric motorcycle prototype built by students. The motorcycle can reach speeds of 200 kilometers per hour. The rollout began in the Noble Hall, and the vehicle's performance was demonstrated in the parking lot.
Vasco Lopes, the team leader, stated that this occasion marks the beginning of a new era. The event signifies “an important moment for [TLMoto], as it reveals months of dedication and innovation.” The student expressed gratitude to the team, their family and friends, and to Técnico.
[Técnico] is an institution that has provided us with the means to fulfill our roles but, above all, it is a community, whether through the groups that function as true friends or the professors and staff who help us every day.

Carlos Santos Silva, Vice President of the Pedagogical Council, also emphasized the importance of the projects developed by students: “It is in the groups that they can combine personal interests and hobbies with the skills they are developing as Técnico students,” adding that without them, “Técnico would not have the reputation it has.”
During the technical presentation segment, the audience learned about the vehicle's energy storage system, the lightest of all prototypes developed so far, and the innovative structural concepts implemented.
Founded ten years ago, TLMoto is dedicated to the development of high-performance electric motorcycles, focusing on sustainable mobility solutions. The team, a pioneer in this field in Portugal, built the first fully Portuguese electric motorcycle and has represented the country in international competitions, such as MotoStudent in Aragon, Spain.
The TLM04e is designed to optimize dynamic and energy performance, and the team plans to compete at the international circuit in Aragon in 2025 with this prototype. In past competitions, it has already gained significant recognition, reinforcing its position as a leader in electric motorcycle development in the country, having achieved 7th place in the project phase (MS1) in 2021.
