The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) congratulates Professor Santos-Victor on his elevation to IEEE Fellow, as of January 1, 2023, with the quote: "for contributions to biologically-inspired cognitive vision and humanoid robotic systems".

Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE Fellow Committee recommends a select group of investigators for elevation to IEEE Fellow. Less than 0.1% of voting members are selected annually for this member grade elevation.

Professor Santos-Victor is currently the Head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, at Instituto Superior Técnico, where he is a Full Professor, and is the President and Researcher of Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR).
