Scientific areas of DEEC are among the top 10 most valuable in 2024
Electrical engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, and electrical engineering technology are among the top 10 most valuable university study areas this year, according to Bankrate.
Studies show that the top 10 most valuable majors are:
- 1st Electrical Engineering
- 2nd Computer Engineering
- 3rd Petroleum Engineering
- 4th Aerospace Engineering
- 5th Materials Science
- 6th Mechanical Engineering
- 7th Electrical Engineering Technology
- 8th Mechanics Engineering, Physics, and Science
- 9th Chemical Engineering
- 10th Actuarial Science
The study was conducted based on the American Community Survey from the Census Bureau and analyzed data in the United States. Among its components, it included the average annual salaries and the unemployment rate of graduates who were employed or seeking employment and held at least a bachelor's degree.
Electrical engineering tops the ranking, with an annual salary of €105,000 and an unemployment rate of just 1.9%. In the case of aerospace engineering, the salary reaches €96,000, with a similar unemployment rate. On the other hand, computer engineering has an average salary of €102,000 and an unemployment rate of 2.1%. The field of electric engineering technology reaches €91,000.
The list includes only university courses in scientific areas related to technology, mathematics, and engineering, showing that graduates in STEM fields are more likely to achieve higher salaries compared to those in arts and humanities.
