The University of Lisbon, where Técnico is part of, is ranked in the 301-400 range in the 2025 edition of the ‘THE by subject rankings’, an initiative by Times Higher Education (THE). The results were published on the 22nd. The ranking included 1488 educational institutions worldwide, with electrical engineering, electronics, and aerospace engineering standing out as key scientific areas in the engineering category, where the University of Lisbon leads at the national level, along with the University of Porto, which is placed in the same range.

In this ranking, the classification is based on different scientific areas according to their performance in domains such as teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international perspective.
