The Faraday Museum celebrates its 8th anniversary!

Next Thursday, February 6th, the museum will be open from 9 AM to 6 PM, with the aim of providing visitors with the opportunity to explore the latest updates. The museum will also be open on Monday afternoon, with specialists available for demonstrations.
The exhibition will include a control station from Posat, the first Portuguese satellite, launched in 1993 and donated by its creators, a replica of ISTSat-1, a set of modules developed at IST, which are identical to those in the ISTSat-1, some of which have been certified for space, various devices that were part of the teaching and research carried out at IST, and unique objects donated by contributors outside of IST.
In addition to the exhibition, there will also be interactive experiences.
Currently, the Portuguese satellite, with 7 months of active life in space, has around 12,000 low Earth orbit satellites in its vicinity. The Starlink network alone has 6,000 satellites. Although researchers have received numerous collision warning alerts, the satellite has not yet experienced any collisions.
