Escola Profissional Bento de Jesus Caraça visits Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

On December 12, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering welcomed more than 40 students from the Escola Profissional Bento de Jesus Caraça. The visit began with a presentation of the department, given by Professor Pedro Tomás. In addition to the bachelor and master's programs, they also learned about some of the student groups and extracurricular activities available at Técnico.

The students visited the Electronics Systems and Networks and Computers modules.

The second part of the visit was also led by Pedro Tomás. In this module, the students learned how some electronic systems work. The professor also discussed the research of systems aimed at restoring vision for blind people.

The final part of the visit was presented by Professors António Grilo and Paulo Pereira, who demonstrated how some motion sensors work. The professors also explained to the students how the automatic telephone answering system is programmed.

The visit ended with a group photo taken at the entrance of the building, along with an invitation for more visits to the DEEC.
