DEEC Luncheon Seminar: New DEEC faculty
On March 20th, Wednesday, at 12:30 p.m., a new session of the DEEC Luncheon will take place in the EA3 amphitheater of Torre Norte, in which three of the most recent members of the DEEC faculty, Miguel Luís, Catarina Barata and Ayman Radwan, will give a short talk on the research work they have been developing.
Miguel Luís
Title: Vehicular Networks and Smart CitiesAbstract: In this session I will present some of my research work in the area of mobile and vehicular networks and how they contribute to a Smart City, with examples on access, network and application layers.
Catarina Barata
Title: Integrating Human Knowledge and Values on Decision Systems for HealthcareAbstract:In this talk I will present my recent work on the enhancement of decision systems to achieve a better and more transparent interaction with humans. In particular, I will discuss how to train models that mimic human behavior and incorporate their feedback and preferences, following my publications on Nature Medicine and MICCAI.
Ayman Radwan
Title: Smarter Networks for 6G: Enabling Technologies and Research ChallengesAbstract: This presentation will focus on showcasing our ongoing research efforts, strategically aligned with the trajectory of 5G and 6G technology evolution. The synergy between our research efforts and the broader 5G and 6G ecosystem is emphasized, underscoring our commitment to advancing towards the era of Smarter 6G Networks.
