The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE, appointed Professor José Brandão Faria as Fellow of this prestigious institution.

The nomination of Fellow, restricted each year to no more than 0.1% of the members, distinguishes scientists with an extraordinary curriculum and recognized by peers for the relevant contribution made in one of the areas of interest of the IEEE.

Citing the Fellow nomination certificate, the distinction was awarded to IST professor José Brandão Faria for "significant contributions to the electromagnetic modeling of electrical power systems".

Professor José Brandão Faria is a professor in the Scientific Area of Energy, and a researcher at Cie3.
