Agrupamento de Escolas D. Dinis came to learn about energy

On the 28th, we received a visit from over 30 students from the D. Dinis School Group. The students began by learning about the research areas of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as the undergraduate and master's programs available. The presentation was given by Professor João Fernandes, who also discussed the student groups that include students from different engineering fields and the entry averages for the 2024/25 academic year.

Next, the students visited the modules on Energy and Sustainability and Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

The first module was presented by Pedro Bhagubai and Luís Bucho, who demonstrated the mechanisms of magnetic levitation and electromagnetic induction used in areas such as the construction of high-speed trains.

Em Inteligência Artificial e Robótica, os alunos In Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, the students learned more about some of the concepts in the field and had the opportunity to interact with a robot. The system tried to guess the participants' age and guide them to a host.

The visit ended with a photo at the entrance to the North Tower and an invitation for more visits to the DEEC.
