China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) Visits the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
On the 12th, we welcomed a visit from the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), based in Guangzhou – an organization similar to the Order of Engineers. Founded in 1958, CAST brings together thousands of experts from various fields of science and technology. Its mission is not only to foster research within China but also to establish international collaborations.
During the visit, Professor Sónia Pinto presented the department, highlighting the DEEC’s main areas of focus and research, including telecommunications, artificial intelligence, energy, robotics, electronics, among others.
The delegation then visited two laboratories dedicated to research in the field of energy transition, with a particular focus on photovoltaic energy.
The visit concluded with a group photo taken inside the laboratory.
