On November 6, Luís Silveira, professor at DEEC, member of the Board of the INESC INOV-Lab and President of the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA), presented the Phil Kaufman Award 2025 to Lip-Bu Tan. The ceremony took place in San José, California.

This award, presented this year to the current CEO of Intel and former CEO of Cadence Design Systems, recognizes the most influential figures worldwide in the field of electronic design automation, standing as the most prestigious distinction of IEEE CEDA. The accolade was granted in collaboration with the SEMI Electronic System Design Alliance.

Lip-Bu Tan was honored for his leadership and the impact of his work in the semiconductor industry.
