N3E reaches the podium at the National Robotics Festival

Between April 4th and 6th, students from the Student Group of Electronic Engineering (Núcleo de Estudantes de Engenharia Eletrónica) participated in the National Robotics Festival, where they presented their three latest prototypes.
The Mater_N3E team secured 2nd place in the Robot@Factory Lite competition, which simulates a factory environment where the robot follows a predefined path marked by lines on the floor, collecting and transporting loads from point A to point B. The team was composed of Electronic Engineering (LEE) undergraduates Manuel Vaz and João Nunes, and Computer and Informatics Engineering (LEIC) student Rodrigo Zink.

The Empilhadora_N3E was presented by Guilherme Garcia and Ludmylla Wonsoscky, from the Electronic Engineering undergraduate program (LEE), and by Miguel Rocha, a master’s student in the same field (MEE), in the Robot@Factory 4.0 category. This challenge is similar to the previous one, but with the key difference that the robot navigates using ArUco markers — QR code-like markers placed on the floor.

Finally, in the Dragster category — where the goal is to reach maximum speed over a 10-meter straight track — students Miguel Linãn, Rodrigo Caldeira, and Francisco Jesus, from the Electronic Engineering undergraduate program (LEE), achieved 5th place out of 15 teams with their robot, WackyRacer_N3E.
