DEEC-JD9: Open call for tenure-track Faculty Positions

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, is seeking young scientists with high potential, holding a PhD, to become Assistant Professors or Associate Professors, with the possibility of a permanent position, in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Requirements and Desired Qualities
Candidates must have obtained a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field. A strong research track record and experience in university teaching are preferred. The ability to foster an inspiring work environment and establish a network of scientific collaborations within and outside the university is valued. A strong motivation to implement one’s own vision and establish a research program (externally funded) is required. Communication skills and proficiency in English are mandatory.

  • Detailed CV (maximum of 6 pages), demonstrating why you are a young PhD with high potential. It should include, but not be limited to: name, email, URL, area of expertise, university granting the PhD, date of award, PhD supervisor, and current employment status.
  • Cover letter and statement of teaching/research interests (maximum of 2 pages). You should describe your research interests and how they align with the DEEC/IST, your main achievements to date, areas of teaching you would like to be involved in, prior teaching experience, etc.
  • Up to 3 references with contact details, who may be contacted for letters of recommendation if required.

A shortlist of candidates will be invited for an interview, and the detailed format will be communicated at a later stage.
