Unite! Seed Fund 2025 Seeks Innovative Projects

The applications are open to professors, researchers, and students from the universities of the Unite! Alliance, which includes Técnico, and the fund aims to support proposals focused on the strategic areas of the alliance: sustainable energy, artificial intelligence, industry 4.0, entrepreneurship, biological engineering and biotechnology, space, cybersecurity, sustainable cities, and water. The initiatives must involve at least three universities, or two if the submission is made by students.
To support the formation of international partnerships and the development of joint proposals, virtual matchmaking events will be organized, allowing potential collaborators to connect.
What are the available categories?
There are 3 categories:
- Student Activities (pre-contact deadline by March 6) – Matchmaking event: February 11, 14:00 – 16:00 CET (funding up to €20,000);
- Teaching and Learning – Matchmaking event: February 12, 14:00 – 16:00 CET (funding up to €80,000);
- Research and PhD – Matchmaking event: February 14, 13:00 – 15:00 CET (funding up to €80,000).
How should applications be submitted?
Applicants must contact the Student Liaison Officers (SFO) and the Key Liaison Officer (KLO) responsible by March 6 to receive proper support. Applications not involving the SFO will not be accepted. Students from the University of Lisbon should contact Isabel Franca, Joana Salgueira, or Ana Rita Fortunato (SFO) via email at slo@ulisboa.pt, and Luís Miguel Silveira via email at lms@tecnico.ulisboa.pt. Final applications should be submitted via email to seedfund@unite-university.eu by March 20 and include the following documents:
- proposal description (maximum 3 pages);
- budget (in Excel);
- eligibility table (in Excel);
- letter from the SLO;
- motivation letter.
