University of Lisbon launches "3 Minutes Thesis" competition

Applications deadline: february 16

The University of Lisbon invites doctoral students to share their research with the general public, aiming to encourage science communication and promote scientific culture in a creative way. The competition will award three prizes:

  • 1st prize: €5,000
  • 2nd prize: €2,000
  • 3rd prize: €1,000

The University of Lisbon highlights that all participants will have the opportunity to develop skills for clearly presenting their work, with access to science communication training. The challenge also offers students the chance to build external relationships, both with other members of the academic community and with professionals in the job market.

How to apply? Applications should be submitted between February 3rd and 16th through the available form. The application is only finalized with the submission of the video, recorded after the training sessions, on February 24th and 25th. The video submission deadline is March 21st.

When will the results be announced? The selection of the 12 finalists will be completed by April 29th. The competition final will take place on May 27th, and the results will be announced at the end of June.
