Fábio Dias, with a Master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Afonso Vale, with a Master's in Aerospace Engineering, have been awarded the Prof. Luís Vidigal Prize. The competition considered dissertations defended in 2024 from various master's programs at Técnico. The Prize Jury, chaired by Professor Isabel Ribeiro, evaluated the scientific and technological merit and the degree of innovation of the 20 submitted works.

Fábio Dias was recognized for his thesis titled "Ultra-Compact Sigma-Delta Modulator for Organ-on-Chip Systems", supervised by Professor Jorge Fernandes from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, and Dr. Diogo Caetano, a researcher at INESC-MN.

Afonso Vale was awarded for his dissertation titled "Design, Control, and Testing of a Trimodal Unmanned Aerial Vehicle", supervised by Dr. Meysam Basiri from ISR/IST and Professor Frederico Afonso from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico.

The prize will be awarded during EletroDay, which will take place on July 5, 2025, at the Técnico Innovation Center.
