Startup PLUS, started at Instituto Superior Técnico, was the winner of the "Biggest Innovation" award at the 2010 edition of the HiT Barcelona World Innovation Summit.

PLUX Wireless Biosignals, one of the companies in the Spin-Off community of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), was the big winner of the "Biggest Innovation" Award in the Health area at the 2010 edition of the HiT Barcelona World Innovation Summit. PLUX was also the only Portuguese company selected to represent Portugal in the "Growth Companies Competition" of this year's edition in Barcelona.

Hugo Gambôa, founder and general manager of PLUX Wireless Biosignals, holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, having developed his PhD work at Instituto de Telecomunicações under the supervision of Professor Ana Fred.
