Student Groups Recognized at Santander Entrepreneurship Day

On March 18, the Entrepreneurship@Técnico Powered by Santander event took place at the Técnico Innovation Center, as part of an open dialogue between students, alumni, and entrepreneurial faculty members connected to Santander Universities startups, the European Innovation Academy, Lisbon’s Unicorn Factory, and Santander representatives. The event featured two discussion panels, an awards ceremony, and a networking session, reinforcing the commitment of Instituto Superior Técnico and Santander to supporting innovation and student talent.
The initiative’s agenda also included the awarding of the TecInnov Santander Students Organizations Competition Prizes, which granted a total of 30,000 euros to eight student groups, including: the Aerospace Engineering Student Group (AeroTéc), the Mobile Energy Sustainability Project (PSEM), Técnico Fuel Cell (TFC), Técnico Lisboa Moto (TLMoto), and Técnico Solar Boat.
The Santander X Awards were also presented, and in the University category, three startups involving Técnico students, researchers, or alumni were recognized.
Técnico students stand out not only for their technical excellence but also for their entrepreneurial spirit, and Santander supports this innovative mindset.
Rogério Colaço, President of Técnico
Miguel Belo de Carvalho, member of Santander’s Executive Committee, emphasized Técnico’s importance in national innovation, stating that “a large part of the ideas that impact society and the economy come from Técnico.” His comments were echoed by Inês Gouveia, Head of Santander Universities, who highlighted the “high level of excellence” of the School’s students.
