António Bento Franco School visited to learn about the challenges of artificial intelligence and robotics
On November 3rd, we welcomed students from Escola Básica e Secundária António Bento Franco, in Ericeira. The visit began with a presentation of the department by Daniela Leonardo, who spoke about the scientific areas, the degree programs, and the main projects developed by Técnico students, as well as some companies founded by former DEEC students.
Afterwards, the students visited the Energy and Sustainability and Artificial Intelligence and Robotics modules.
In the Energy and Sustainability module, the students visited the electrical machines laboratory. During the presentation with Professor João Fernandes, they observed experiments with superconductors.
In the second module, Professor Alberto Vale discussed the main challenges in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics, as well as the evolution of this area over the years.
The visit ended with a group photo on the north tower staircase.
