Escola Secundária Padre António Vieira visits the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineerings
Last Wednesday, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) welcomed more than 30 students from Padre António Vieira Secondary School. The initial presentation was given by Professor António Rodrigues, who introduced the scientific research areas within DEEC, the academic programs offered, and some of the extracurricular activities available.
After the presentation, the students visited the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics module as well as the Electronic Systems module.
In the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics module, they met Bob — a robot capable of autonomously navigating a space and interacting with students.
In the second module, they learned about the Elónica project — an electronic system designed to restore vision to blind individuals by connecting a camera to the visual cortex.
The visit concluded with a group photo on the stairs of the North Tower.
