Técnico welcomes more than two thousand visitors at Open Day 2024

Técnico Open Day is a free event that, this year, offered the community more than 100 activities linked to the University. More than two thousand people visited the Alameda campus and had the opportunity to attend talks, information sessions with Técnico students, guided tours, interactive experiments and a science fair where around 40 research projects were on display.

The Open Day was organised in collaboration of the Departments, Research Units and Students’ organisations, and showcased projects in various branches of engineering, science, technology and architecture.

The programme also included a talk about the Técnico’s ISTSat-1, which stands out as the first university satellite entirely developed and manufactured in Portugal), led by João Paulo Monteiro.

In the visits to the laboratories of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC), visitors were able to explore the fabulous world of quantum technologies, electrical mobility and superconductivity, new types of antennas for communications and sensors, see a model of an airport runway, and discover space robots, developed by Técnico students.
