Thesis Defence

After the provisional thesis is submitted, the process is as follows:
- the supervisor proposes the Jury’s composition to PDEEC Coordinator;
- PDEEC Coordinator nominates the Jury and its Chairperson;
- the Jury has 2 Rapporteurs, who will deliver appraisals of the thesis;
- after receiving the appraisals, the Jury Chairperson conducts the 1st meeting of the Jury, to take a decision on the provisional thesis, which can be the acceptance for public defence, or the request of changes;
- upon acceptance of the provisional thesis, the Jury Chairperson schedules the public defence;
- the public defence has a maximum duration of 2h30, within which, at the beginning, the student gives a 30-minute presentation of the work;
- the thesis approval is done by majority vote of the members of the Jury;
- after approval, the student has to deliver the final version of the thesis, where minor corrections are still possible.
The final qualification can be:
- Rejected,
- Approved,
- Approved with Distinction,
- Approved with Distinction and Honours.
