PhD Public Defense: João Serra

On October 15th, the student João Leandro Câmara Serra successfully defended his thesis titled “Electromagnetic Spacetime Crystals: Topological Phases and Non-Hermitian Effects”, under the supervision of Professor Mário Gonçalo Mestre Veríssimo Silveirinha. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The defense took place in lecture hall PA-3, in the Mathematics Pavilion.
The examination committee was chaired by Professor Luís Manuel de Jesus Sousa Correia, Full Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, and included the following members: Dr. Romain Fleury, Assistant Professor at EPFL, Switzerland; Dr. Christophe Caloz, Full Professor at KU Leuven, Belgium; Dr. Filipa Isabel Rodrigues Prudêncio, Assistant Professor at ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon; Dr. Carlos António Cardoso Fernandes, Full Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon; Dr. António Luís Campos da Silva Topa, Assistant Professor; and Dr. Mário Gonçalo Mestre Veríssimo Silveirinha, Full Professor from the same department.
