On December 12, John Daniel Fidalgo Mendonça successfully defended his thesis, “Multilingual Automatic Dialogue Evaluation,” under the supervision of Professor Isabel Maria Martins Trancoso. The examination took place in lecture hall PA-3, in the Mathematics Building.

The examination committee was chaired by Dr. Luís Miguel Teixeira D’Avila Pinto da Silveira, Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, and included Dr. Dilek Hakkani-Tür, Professor (equivalent to Full Professor) at the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science, The Grainger College of Engineering, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA; Dr. Isabel Maria Martins Trancoso, Emeritus Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon; Dr. Luis Fernando D’Haro Enríquez, Associate Professor at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain; and Dr. Bruno Emanuel da Graça Martins, Associate Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon.
